- Honing is a technique where the shine or factory finish is removed down to a matte finish and then sealed. It can be enhanced prior to sealing to change the stones appearance. Often referred to as knocking the shine off.
- Scratches are just that "scratches". Could have happened during transport, install, moving heavy or sharp items on the stone without proper protection, or just natural marks on the stone you may want to address.
- Stains often occur when the stone was not sealed properly, or the wrong sealer was applied leaving the stone discolored. Different type of stains requires different removal methods. Some instances may require multiple visits for Darker spots / rings / lines may occur over time.
Stone over time will not look the same as it did at the day of initial install. Everyday use will ultimately pay its toll on your investment leaving it dull or even blemished. All of this can be corrected by using certain countertop resurfacing techniques and tooling.
